Congratulations to our patron Midori who single handedly hosted the largest opening night party that the Asian Art Museum has ever had. On February 19, she hosted an exhibit and performance art piece that in her own words, turned the museum into a pleasure quarter.

Come by and learn about the history of hojojutsu and its practical uses: Given her background in traditional Japanese martial arts for over 30 years, tomo’s perspective of rope use is that of a military or martial one. Hojojutsu, the art of tying a prisoner with rope, fits well with her other battlefield based martial arts. Join us as we chat with tomo about the history of hojojutsu and how these martial and sometimes deadly techniques have been modified for consensual bondage.

Hitchin’ Bitches Bay Area Skill Share – December Shay, creator of the bondage safety repository remedialropes.com and do-er of all the things, will be sharing information on mobile (“marionette”) suspensions. This Western-style, bottom-focused bondage is far different from strict Shibari immobilization- join us to learn about the acrobatics and freedom of movement that rope can offer!SKILL SHAREThis is our monthly gathering to induce passionate skill sharing between all Hitchin’ Bitches. We spend a few hours a month in shared lab time. This includes asking questions, sharing ideas, problem solving together, following along with others, riffing with the rope, and generally rope jamming together. This event is made possible by the contributions of the Center for Sex and Culture and Midori Sensei! WHAT Are We Doing?Together we are creating a safe space for Hitchin’ Bitches to practice rope. We want to create a thriving network so that we are representing, and represented in the broader kink/leather/sex communities. This is what to expect WHO Is A Hitchin’ Bitch?We welcome all women who live full time as women and FTM, genderqueer and intersexed persons who feel that they still have links to women’s communities. We seek to err on the side of inclusion! MISSION Statement:Empowerment! We want to dash Rope Politics (the hierarchy of perceived competition) by encouraging skill share and joint purpose. We want to help Hitchin’ Bitches find their own authentic Rope Voice as they repel “technical” focus and seek a balance of intent and skill in their rope activities. Find the F.A.Q. If you do not have any, we will be providing some; please be sure to return what you borrow. SAFETY:As with any kind of bondage, safety is paramount. All attendees participate at their own risk.
